Moto phones are known for their build quality, but that’s not the only thing good about this phone. It has also been updated to Android 8.0 and comes with the newer Snapdragon 630 which is better than the 625 seen on other phones. Then, Moto is known for the quality of its dual cameras and this one comes with a pair. 64GB memory should be enough for your storage needs too.

Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1

Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1

3GB RAM/ 32GB storage

4GB RAM/ 64GB storage

What’s good:
Here is a competitor to the Note 5 Pro which beats it in most of the departments. Besides the great processor, RAM, and internal storage that it shares with the Note 5 Pro, the Max Pro beats the Note 5 on things like a bigger battery, dedicated microSD slot, and Android 8.1 out of the box with the same weight and dimensions. Isn’t that great? Also, the 6GB variant comes with 16MP snappers on both front and back.

What’s good:
Here is a worthy OnePlus 6 competitor at a very competitive price. It offers top of the line processor, gargantous RAM and internal storage, decent cameras (on paper at least) and other bells and whistles you’d expect from a flagship phone.

What could have been better:
We are yet to find one.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2

best phones under 35000 - mi mix 2

What’s good:
Mi Mix 2 seems like an underdog. It’s one of the most good looking phones available in the market, has specs similar to the OnePlus 5T, but doesn’t get enough credit. It comes with top of the line processor, has rather too much RAM and storage and a near bezel-less design.

What could have been better:
The front camera seems to be mediocre when looking at the specs.

Samsung Galaxy S8

best phones under 45000 rs - Samsung Galaxy S8

What’s good:
S8 is Samsung’s flagship from 2017 and with that appealing design, manages to stand apart from the crowd. Even after almost an year since announcement, the phone still looks like a good deal at the asking price.

What could have been better:
The phone has a hybrid slot and might not have the best battery backup time compared to competitors. Also, 4GB RAM isn’t the standard in this budget.

OnePlus 6

best phonesns under rs 40,000 - oneplus 6
6GB/64GB memory

8GB/128GB memory

What’s good:
The OnePlus keeps getting better every year albeit with a price bump. This yea’s phone offers the Snapdragon 845 which makes it among the cheapest phones to offer it in the market. The controversial notch also gets added. At 6.3 inches, it’s not exactly small though even for a 18:9 display phone. As usual, OnePlus has loaded it with enough RAM and internal memory along with Android 9.0 and as many cameras as you’d want in your phone. The camera has been given rave reviews too.

What could have been better:
Just wait for the OnePlus 6T.

Apple iPhone 7

best phones under 40000 - iphone-6s

What’s good:
While the iPhone 7 is an year old, it has aged really well. What helps more is that the iPhone 8 isn’t a monumental upgrade. So this one still feels pretty solid, is fast and does most of the things an iPhone 8 can.

What could have been better:
When you decide to buy an Apple iPhone you should be aware of the fact that it comes with a non-expandable memory, close to 720p display resolution and a singe SIM slot. If that doesn’t bother you, go ahead with the purchase. Although, this phone should be bought when it’s closer to Rs 40,000.
